CBU medical students walk and say they will support any bills. The meal allowance claim does not match Bill 7
EDUCATION
Leaders of the Copperbelt University (CBU) School of Medicine led a walk and said they would support any bills, according to Diamond TV Online (Mike Mwendachabe). The leaders named are Bright Banda, Tiyamike Mwanza, Peter Mushota and Given Chipewo. The report links the students' position to meal allowances and to Bill 7. **Where the claim breaks.** Bill 7 is the Constitution Amendment Act No. 7 of 2025. Parliament passed it on 15 December 2025 with 135 votes. The President gave assent on 18 December. It deals with changes to the Constitution. It is not a meal allowance measure. If students want meal allowances restored or raised, that is a funding decision for government and the university. It is not a bill. **Why it matters.** Student welfare is a live issue ahead of your university tour. Students deserve accurate information about which laws affect them. **Verification notes.** This is a single-source report; our search found no other coverage of the walk. The post was about four hours old when it was captured on 11 October. We could not find the walk reported elsewhere. **Open questions.** Which bills do the students mean? What exactly are they asking for on allowances? Has CBU or the Ministry responded? **Sources:** Diamond TV Online; Parliament of Zambia.
