We-Forest Zambia, operating within the Lavushimanda district of Muchinga Province, has officially developed and introduced a comprehensive Grievance Readiness Mechanism (GRM). This structured process is designed to systematically receive, address, and manage feedback, queries, and grievances from local communities residing adjacent to vital conservation and reforestation zones. As landscape-level environmental interventions expand across rural Zambia, establishing clear, accessible communication channels between conservation implementers and local stakeholders has become a critical priority. The introduction of the GRM aligns closely with ongoing efforts to restore degraded miombo woodlands, curb deforestation driven by charcoal production and shifting agriculture, and establish ecological connectivity between Lavushimanda National Park and the broader Luangwa Valley ecosystem.
